The opening ceremony of the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games

On Wednesday August 28, 2024, the opening ceremony of the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games will be held. The event will take place on Place de la Concorde and on Avenue des Champs-Elysées (free access up to 15 places available) from 000 p.m.
The public reception takes place from 17 p.m. with inspection by the police.

The security perimeter 

  • A SILT perimeter will be activated from 15 p.m.: sonly them people and vehicles accredited by Paris 2024 ou with a ticket, and following a check of the supporting documents, will have access to this perimeter. The Games Pass will not be requested.
  • A red perimeter will be gradually activated on D-Day: motorized access prohibited unless there is a legitimate reason justifying the need for access to the area. The Games Pass will not be requested.

Pedestrians and cyclists can move freely without proof within the red perimeter.

You will only be able to access it if you are a spectator with a ticket for the opening ceremony.

Pedestrians and cyclists are not required to present a Games Pass or proof.

For this ceremony, the red perimeter is inaccessible to users, except for spectator ticket holders and Paris 2024 accredited people. 

No Games Pass will be required to travel there, nor will it be issued.

Your Games Pass, obtained in advance, will not be able to give you access to this area for the entire duration of the perimeter activation.

The perimeter is gradually deactivated on the night of August 29:

  • 3h (August 29): deactivation of the SILT perimeter (excluding Concorde stadium)
  • 7h (August 29): deactivation of the SILT perimeter (de la Concorde stadium)
  • until August 31 : expected impact linked to dismantling

    • Metro metro_9 will not mark the stop from 14 p.m. until the end of the service
    • access to the metro metro_1 will remain open with the exception of those located on the Champs-Élysées roundabout
  • Metro metro_1 metro_7 Palais Royal - Musée du Louvre: the station remains open, but access to the metro located within the SILT perimeter is closed
  • RER RER_C Orsay Museum: the station remains open, but access to the Anatole France platform is closed
  • Metro metro_1 expected crowds between Châtelet-les-Halles and Georges V
  • Metro metro_9 expected crowds between Franklin D. Roosevelt and Havre-Caumartin
